Phunawa Resort ★★★★

The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Staff helped booked day trips and provide information for us and were very nice.

There was upkeep needed with the property as with a lot of other reviews, but nothing that made the stay unpleasant.

I loved the very efficient and homely environment of the resort. Ofcourse all facilities were as per our expectation. The attitiude of the staff, in particular the manager Minni and her colleagues Kang and Ming, was exceptional. I really appreciate the fact that Minni goes out of her way to ensure a very enjoyable stay for her guests. I look forward to visit them again!

The bar could have been open for longer hours since guests may expect to wind down with few drinks and then go to sleep.

The property was very comfortable and relaxing. I really enjoyed the spaciousness of the rooms, the quiet atmosphere, and the extra touches added. The staff were beyond helpful and kind. The services they provided my family with made all the difference. This was the second time we stayed on this resort, and despite it being an older resort with small inconvenient quarks, we will book with them again!

The only issue that we had was that some of the fixtures in the room were not working or broken. The kitchen seemed to be the area where this was most noticeable - loose taps and refridgerator panels. The resort did apologize and comped us meals to make up for this.

The staff were lovely The free shuttle to the beach was useful The large balcony with our own sun loungers. The pool area was pretty ( although we didn't use it)

Bed was hard The showers in rooms were poor possibly low pressure but I suspect a good. Clean to remove any lime scale would of helped. Restaurant/ breakfast area felt very cafeteria like Basic food and basic decor. A few plants a few nice light fitting wouldn't go a miss. That being said, we paid about £45 a night b&b for a couple I was under the illusion that Thailand was cheap so maybe expected more

the “balcony” was disappointing. facing a row of tall plants so nth to look at. u wouldn’t use it. to get around the property is like a mini maze haha

Loved the hotel, looking a little dated now but they are trying to update each area

The rooms are lovely and spacious perfect for couples or families. We had a full kitchen in our apartment but only come with 2 of each cutlery, glasses and cups. There was no plates, utensils or any other kitchen equipment. The bed mattresses was so hard. Lovely private stay with rooftop jacuzzi, perfect place for chilling out.

The breakfast was limitid. For example no cheese no croissant. I have to ask to upgrade the room as the one was shown in booking is different than the one I was given. This was taken care by reciption staff after spending 30 minutes calling the manager. After they change the room it was better. The furniture is old.

We went on the John gray sea canoe trip it was the best trip by far and we did all the islands but the John gray was that bit more personal it was a once in a life time experience

It was perfect for a family . Big space, two bedrooms with two bathrooms,clean rooms and Aircon works efficiently. Situated in a quiet road. We enjoyed the stay.

Staff was extremely polite and helpful. Breakfast was good with many choices. Pool is amazing. The room itself is good size with a big terrace with mountain and pool views. U can also see Karon Beach from the side.

The shower can be difficult to get into, maybe the management can look into it.

Enjoyed the location. Breakfast was ok. Bar Restaurant was good with friendly staff. Massage in resort excellent.

We 2 apartments with kitchens but there was nothing to cook with (Pots, Pans Etc) Mattress very hard. We also had a roof top Jacuzzi with one of the apartments and although very well set up there was no instructions as how to operate it and it was cold.

Good location only a short walk from Karon. Staff were friendly and it was amazing value for money. Personally don’t understand the comments about breakfast - good selection and tasty too!

The cleaning system was odd (sheets changed the day before we checked out?) overall things are a bit worn around the resort but shouldn’t complain for the money paid. They need more beds by the pool too.

Great location and spacious rooms. Appreciated luxury. Walking distance to restaraunts, beach and bars. Beach is great! Lovely white sand. Cheap food places nearby and cheap tut tut to main pun street.

Good resort feel, rooms were great for our family, although lots of stairs. Food wasn’t the best, staff weren’t overly friendly either. A really loud generator came on at 5:30am woke us up, that sucked. Pleasant on night stay.

Nothing. The pool was ok but whole resort was below average and substandard.

Poor food. Breakfast was very poor some of the food was cold at breakfast. Very poor communication at front desk and very little help.Staff at the front desk should have good English to communicate with all guest. Emailed months ago in advance wanted confirmation of booking and had no replies. Staff didn’t give any suggestions on events or tours and have very little knowledge of good sites to see. Staff cooking eggs for breakfast were regularly away from the cooking station and you either had cold eggs or had to wait up to 10 minutes for them to come back. Would never come back to this place again

Our 4 day stay at this hotel for our honeymoon was by far the worst service we received in our whole time in Phuket. We had a long journey upon arrival at this hotel so we were very tired and just wanted a easy relaxing check in and stay. Our check in time was 2pm. We arrived at 3pm for check-in. The woman at reception was very dismissive and rude. It was 2,000 baht for the deposit which my husband and I felt was a significant amount for a deposit. We went to the room which was still being cleaned despite check-in at 2pm so we had to wait an hour until the room was ready. We paid for a pool view junior suite and when we got into the room it was nothing like the pictures. The room was dark and dirty. It was not a pool view. The view was of a dirty wall at the side of the hotel and you had to hang over the balcony to actually see the pool. We asked kindly to be put in another room (bear in mind we were on our honeymoon and had paid for a pool view) which was not taken well by staff at all. They came in and told us to come with them to another room which was clean and had a pool view. This was great but their attitude was awful. They just moved us, they didn’t even talk to us like they had done before we asked to be moved. We thanked them but they just shut the door on us.This attitude carried on throughout our whole stay. Even at breakfast the staff stared at us and then looked at the ground. I have to again repeat myself and say we have never in our whole time in Phuket received service like this at all. This makes us think that the real problem is management and their attitude and the way they treat their staff. This rubs off on the way staff treat the customers.
